Hunt for the camera

...started actually already in Finland. I didn't have a camera other than one on my smarthphone. Even though it's a 5MP camera it's a shitty one with blurry vision (sorry for the language, but thats the best way to describe it). In Finland I got plenty of good advices for the camera but just didn't had time to concentrate to check them out and buy one. And I had heard that electronics are around 10% cheaper here in Singapore than in Finland.

In Singapore, after the friday nights party I posted to my Facebook message page about it on the morning. By the next day I had decided the camera to pick. I chose Nikon S9100 to be the target. So I went shopping with my Singaporean friend. We went to the City Hall Mall on City Hall MRT station. It's a quite big mall with lots of shops filled with small electronics. The camera was advertised with price 545S$ everywhere, the package included the camera with one year manufacturer warranty, extra battery, mini tripod, casing, memory card reader and 8 GB memory card. Still had the feeling that the price is off. So I paid visit to every shop there and asked for the price for the package, it varied from 475S$ to 439S$ (but the cheapest offer only included the 8 GB memory card and casing). Even so, I decided that I don't really need the extra stuffs. I just decided to try to get the extra battery for the same price.

So I went back to the same boutique and asked the price for the camera from another seller. He told me the price is 445S$... what? I told him that previously when i visited there it was only 439S$. The shopkeeper accepted the price. It was then when I realized to ask again that does all the extras come with the price also? This one answered yes! By then we were smiling discreetly and winking with my Spore friend. I also asked to get the receipt for to get the tax free 7% GST refund when leaving the country. So the camera with the total package was only around 415S$~240€. So it was quite a good deal.

Now when I have the camera, you can just be waiting for some nice pictures from my trips, hope you'll enjoy!
